Our 110-year-old building has a rich story to tell. Check out this week’s “Did You Know” history series and learn something new today!
Ever noticed the tiny green door that sits next to our community hand-washing sink? It is original to the building and over 100 years old. It was once a full-sized door, however, developers raised the floor in the market hall 18in when developing Armature Works, thus creating the “mini door.”

Nestled in the Southeast corner of the building, in Steelbach restaurant, is a 100-year-old vault that was previously used to house valuable materials in the TECO main office. Today it has been repurposed into a wine cellar and holds over 1,000 bottles of wine.

Did you know a functioning water tower once stood on the Southwest corner of the property where the Armature Works pier stands now? The structure provided clean water to the building and beyond.
